Recipe - Chicken Pie Feast with Carrots, Broccoli, Mash & Yorkshire Puds, Plus a Sweet Treat!
Ingredients:
- Leftover chicken (previously costed as free)
- Leftover gravy (previously costed as free)
- Chicken & veg soup (free from Olio)
- Handful of spinach (free from Olio)
- Puff pastry (£1.25)
- 1/4 bag of carrots (15p)
- Onion (6p)
- 1/2 broccoli (44p)
- Crispy potato slices (reduced, 52p)
- 1/3 bag of potatoes (53p)
- Eggs, milk & flour for batter mix (approximately 50p)
- Gravy granules (16p)
Total Cost: £3.61
Instructions:
- In a pot, mix the leftover chicken, gravy, chicken & veg soup, and a handful of spinach. Simmer until heated through.
- Roll out the puff pastry and line a pie dish, then fill it with the chicken mixture.
- Top the pie with another layer of puff pastry, sealing the edges.
- Bake until the pastry is golden and flaky.
For the Sides:
- Steam the carrots and broccoli until tender.
- Boil and mash the potatoes, creating an extra batch to freeze for convenience.
- Prepare crispy potato slices according to package instructions.
- Whip up a batter mix with eggs, milk, and flour for the Yorkshire puddings.
