Recipe - Creamy Apple & Somerset Pork with Garlic Mash, Cabbage & Yorkshire Puds 😋

Kudos to Arlo for taking charge in the kitchen, and what a fantastic job he did—Lily even enjoyed it! Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Leftover pork (previously costed as free)
  • Apple & cider sauce (on offer, 50p)
  • 1/2 tub of mushrooms (28p)
  • 1/2 bunch of spring onions (25p)
  • Onion (6p)
  • 1/3 bag of potatoes (50p)
  • Garlic (free, homegrown)
  • 1/2 cabbage (37p)
  • Handful of frozen spinach (14p)
  • Leftover Yorkshire puds (previously costed as free)

Total Cost: £2.10

Instructions:

  1. Warm up the leftover pork in a pan.
  2. Add apple & cider sauce, sliced mushrooms, chopped spring onions, and diced onion to the pan. Allow them to simmer together for a flavorful mix.
  3. Meanwhile, boil and mash the potatoes with finely minced garlic for that delightful garlic mash.
  4. Steam the cabbage and frozen spinach until tender.
  5. Reheat the leftover Yorkshire puddings.

Serve the creamy apple & Somerset pork over garlic mash, with a side of cabbage and spinach, and top it off with the Yorkshire puddings.

This mouthwatering meal fed five for just 42p each. Arlo's culinary skills are truly impressive, and Lily's approval is the cherry on top! 😋
